Website Projects and Experiments

  • Purpose: Portfolio website to help direct to independent craftsman store

  • Tools used: Squarespace, CSS

  • Role: Web admin, UX design

Firewheel Leather Co is the leather crafting company of Shawn Rodgers. He wanted a portfolio website that could show off his previous projects and direct potential customers to his Etsy storefront. I used Squarespace to build most of the website with some added CSS. I also manage the Firewheel Leather Co. Facebook and Instagram pages.

  • Purpose: Professional news blog

  • Tools used: Squarespace interface, some CSS

  • Role: UX designer, web admin

Ari Christine is a news blog started by my co-worker who needed help getting it off the ground. She was already using Squarespace but did not understand how to navigate the tools it provided. First doing UX research and interviews, I worked within the interface to pick a new template and make it work for her needs.

My oldest running and in some ways most experimental website is Kitsune's Forest, my domain of all of the websites I worked on starting at age 13. Many of the websites are very dated by modern standards and are not the cleanest code in the world. The main hub that hosts it all is my place where I experiment with what I find interesting or trying to get to work correctly. The other websites are like living museums of my past interests and passions.

  • Purpose: Teacher website for students

  • Tools used: Notepad, Adobe Photoshop 7, Paintshop Pro 7, HTML, CSS, some Javascript

  • Role: Designer, coder, administrator

Before schools were creating their own domains for teachers to put their websites (or using Google classroom), I designed a class website for my students to get their notes and other important information. It is mostly unused now with Google Classroom.
